Giveaway: Free entry to a 2014 Reebok Spartan Race!!!

300Do you have what it takes to be a Spartan?

I’d become a full blown Spartan if it meant I got to climb ropes with Gerard Butler.  You would too. Don’t lie. The man is fit.

All  unrealistic dreams about meeting yummy movie stars aside, I’m super excited to be able to give one lucky reader a free entry into a 2014 Spartan Race. Upcoming races include the Arizona Spartan Sprint on Feb 8th and 9th, 2014 and the Nevada Spartan Super on April 5th, 2014.

If you haven’t heard of the Spartan races before, remember the obstacle courses you used to run as a kid?  – now multiply that by one hundred million and you’ve got your Spartan race. It’s been voted the #1 obstacle race by Outside Magazine.

Spartan Race will test your strength, stamina, and sense of humor.

New to Spartan Races? More info is available on their website ( but here’s a taste:

spartan race description

Spartan races and Crossfit (and, I suppose, other sports) go together like chocolate and peanut butter. What? Something that pushes you to the end of your endurance? Forces you to complete physical feats you never thought possible? Jump over fire? We crossfitters eat that sh*t for breakfast! (sidenote: G has just informed me that he doesn’t eat sh*t for breakfast).

Here’s a video of some crossfitters doing a head-to-head Spartan race (including Crossfit favorite: Christmas Abbott)

I’m going to go for the Trifecta this year. Winning an entry would help keep cost down since I have to travel out of state for one of the races.

  • Beth says:

Enter me but I’m actually a little afraid I might win. How about this? If I win, I promise to do it. Yikes! I think I’ve gone crazy! Love this blog too. Thanks for such a cool giveaway!

LOL! That’s when I thought when I first heard about them…but you never know what your body can really do until you push it…although I do think there is room in the race world for Nap Races. I think I would like the training program ha ha.

  • Betty says:

I would love to do a Spartan Race to see how I perform now that I have been doing crossfit. I’ve cleaned out my eating and overall I’m excited to see what my body can overcome and endure while having fun at the same time. My goal is to get the trifecta this year and go out of the state for the first time to run a Spartan race! Thanks for hosting this giveaway by the way.

  • Janelle Carolus says:

I would love to do a Spartan race, I have been crossfitting for the last 8 months and I’m ready to step it up to the next level and start pushing my body in other ways!

  • Alberto says:

I would love to win the free entry to work my way to the Texas Trifecta! It’s awesome that all three Spartan Races are being offered in Texas this year!

  • Beki says:

I would love to win an entry into a Spartan race! I did an obstacle race in 2012 and it wasn’t as challenging as I thought it should have been. I think a Spartan race would be a tremendous challenge & I would love to meet that challenge head on!

I already follow you on twitter & I tweeted your giveaway!

    I <3 your blog Rae!
