Here is a summary of my first week on the new Pull-up Program:

Week 1 pull ups Oct 2013

 

 

BACKGROUND

In August 2012 I could not do a single pull up with any of the bands including the giant blue band which looked like I was lifting myself with a tire – seriously, it is that thick.

In November 2012 I got my first pull up with the giant Blue Band – I kept it cool at the Box, but inside, I felt like a Rock Star!

In January 2013 I moved to the green band

Then in April 2013 I got my first pull up with the purple band.

CURRENT STATUS

May 7, 2013 – 3 Strict with purple band – one per minute

May 23, 2013 – 18 strict with green band (3*5 + 1*3). Trying to work up to 5*5. Then will try again with purple.

August 4, 2013 (after a 2 month break on pull-up training) – 16 strict green 4*3,1*4. Bit of a slide backwards but I think I can make up the ground quickly. Am going to alternate chin ups and pull ups and practice at least 3* week.

August 21, 2013 (back on track) – 20 strict pull ups with green 5×4 sets, 24 strict chin ups 4×6 (trying to string more together)

September 15, 2013 – 30 chin ups with green band -sets of (6,5,4,4,4,3,2,1,1). Struggling after two week holiday and some weight gain. Will keep working it.

October 24, 2013 – working on a program with double-banded purple bands (i.e. two purple bands together). Currently 31 pull-ups (8,7,6,5,5)
