Week 9 Pull up Program – No, I haven’t quit!

Quest imageJust a quick update on the pull-up program. Just finished week 9, first week with just one purple band. Are these ever hard!! At the moment, getting a chance to do the pull-up practice is a bit difficult. For one, I’m doing the competitors program at our gym, which is a specially designed program for those of us who are doing the open. In a nutshell, just imagine 6 weeks of doing all the moves you are bad at..that’s the program. Honestly, who the h*ll invented burpees anyway. I hate that guy (or woman, I don’t discriminate – I’m an equal opportunity hater.).

We’re also moving gyms this week (YAY YAY YAY) and are in a period of transition, so no pull-up bars at the moment. Is it selfish of me to think the timing could have been better?…seriously there are only 23 days left until the Open. What’s that? Oh, it isn’t all about me??? hmmm controversial.

Anyway, without further ado, here is the summary of Week 9. You’ll see that I’ve started to do the pull-ups in the workouts on some days rather than the pull-up program. I think this is probably to just give a little variety. It can get boring doing ring rows in the met cons and also having to stay after class to hang from the bar. Throwing in the odd pull-ups in the metcon helps me keep it interesting. So important point when doing a training program.be dedicated, but don’t be afraid to change it up every now and then.
